The right VP of Finance doesn’t need this job description, and won’t wake up in the morning with the thought “I am the VP of Finance at Invisible Technologies,” but with the thought: “Have we taken over the world yet?”
The right person might call me and tell me these words: I know numbers. I love them and they love me. I want to construct financial tools, procedures, controls, and build analytics systems to protect our financial assets and drive our business growth. I understand the pros & cons of equity financing vs. debt financing and generate fresh ideas in capital raising and capital allocation. I don’t just look to the next VC round, but think outside the box in how to get the greatest growth in shareholder value.
I will support Invisible’s operational strategies by maintaining financial controls and building on the financial modeling in place. I will make our team breathe a huge sigh of relief when they see an email from me stating, “Don’t worry. - An understanding of the process of raising capital, and the different options available to companies like Invisible.
